El Clasico Match Preview – Barcelona vs Real Madrid

In August 2017, Real Madrid completed dominated the el-clasico fixtures. Competing for the Super Copa trophy, Real Madrid literally destroyed the Copa del Rey champions, winning 5-1 on aggregate.

Since then, fortunes have turned for both clubs. While Barcelona have already won the La Liga and Copa del Rey title, Champions League is the only trophy that can be won by the Los Blancos.

In the previous el-clasico that was held at the Bernabeu, Barcelona outclassed Real Madrid, winning the fixture 3-0.

The Blaugranas seem to have taken the Copa Espana lesson at heart and now rank favorites to winning the 237th El Clasico fixture.

Isco is probably the only player injured for the fixture, with both squads having their best players on hand.

Zidane is one of those who have mastered the art of winning El Clasicos. Since the 4-0 disappointment at the Bernabeu, the Madrid side has bounced back admirably with Zidane at the helm.

Since that famous loss, Madrid has won three out of the six El Clasicos they’ve competed in, and have lost twice.

Barcelona are still undefeated in the League. Now is Real Madrid’s chance for a comeback. It’ll be a performance to remember if they end Barcelona’s undefeated run and look forward to the Champions League final more optimistically.
