In response to Messi’s comments, PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi responds to Messi in an interview with French media ahead of the Marseille derby. Al Khelaifi stated, “There’s a lot of talk outside, but I’m not sure what he said or didn’t say. As everyone saw, we released a video congratulating Messi during training, and we also did it privately. However, we must respect the fact that we are a French club.”

Al Khelaifi explained that they couldn’t have a grand celebration due to respect for the country Messi defeated, his French teammates, and the club’s supporters. He described it as a delicate situation to have a celebration in the stadium.
