Barcelona finalizes new contract for teenage player Gavi


The talented 18-year Gavi, old’s contract expires next summer. Barcelona and the player reached an agreement earlier this year regarding a contract extension.

Offers for Gavi

As discussions with Barcelona went on, clubs from across Europe had been contacting Gavi’s team to express interest. However, reportedly the La Liga team had long been convinced that they would finally complete the midfielder’s new deal.

While European teams like Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain requested to be kept informed of the situation. Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United contacted his team in England. However, De la Pena has made it clear that Gavi will not be leaving Barcelona.

The player’s success in Barcelona

In order to keep Gavi from leaving the club. Barcelona was successful in including a €1 billion release clause in the contract, the same as that of another rising star Pedri.

Gavi is a full Spain international and has made more than 50 appearances for Barcelona despite his young age, which says a lot about how well regarded he is in his own home country.
