Carlo Ancelotti: Real Madrid Dependents on Karim Benzema only

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that his Real Madrid team is largely reliant on striker Karim Benzema.

This season, the French striker has been in sensational form, scoring 37 goals in all competitions, including consecutive hat-tricks in the Champions League.

The most recent of those trios came against Chelsea in the quarter-final first leg at Stamford Bridge, with Benzema’s three goals propelling Los Blancos to a thrilling 3-1 away triumph.

While Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted his team was overly reliant on Benzema

“We are dependent on Benzema,” he said. ”That’s how it is, we are not going to deny it. And I’m very happy that we are dependent on Karim. It’s a reality, and it’s a good thing.

Karim is a modern striker who [does] what strikers are expected to do. Everything, even defensive work, is on the table. In today’s sport, he is the ultimate example of what a center forward should be.”

Karim Benzema Wanted Reece James Shirt After The Match

At the Bernabeu, the 22-year-old Reece James was probably Chelsea’s Man of the Match. Despite receiving a booking barely 10 minutes into the second leg of the quarter-final.

In fact, in the first half, Madrid’s Vinicius Jr and Ferland Mendy tried four dribbles against England international James but failed to register a single one, such was his dominance. He had the most tackles of any Chelsea player on the night, with eight.

To keep his team from conceding, he flicked the ball away from Benzema, who appeared to be on his way to scoring, and risked handing away a penalty and maybe a red card.

It was a fantastic performance and one of the finest players in the world definitely admires his efforts. Following the final whistle, Benzema requested the England international’s shirt, the ultimate sign of respect. He Knows He Witnessed Something Special!
