He will have to miss the multiple games. The results of his injury turned out to be really bad. It goes without saying that coach Mike McCarthy did not want to hear that his starting quarterback was lost in Week 1.

The simplest response is that Cooper Rush, Prescott’s backup who took over for the final six minutes of one of the games, would serve as the team’s temporary starter.

Cooper Rush is not among the best options to replace Dak Prescott. Although he is familiar with the team’s offense. Since leaving Central Michigan, the 28-year-old has only made one start in the NFL. Prior to the 2021 season, he only made five appearances and completed one of three passes for two yards.

Other players to replace?

Will Grier can be a part of the team in replacement with Dak Prescott. He is currently eligible for a promotion and at least three one-week call-ups from the scout team. However, during his rookie season he struggled in the 16-17 week only completing 53% of his passes.
In terms of possibilities outside the organization, it’s likely that the Cowboys will try to re-sign free agent Ben DiNucci, who was dismissed during final cuts after spending two years on and off the practice squad.
