France confirms Christopher Nkunku OUT of the World Cup after a wild tackle by team-mate

Christopher Nkunku has been ruled out of the 2022 World Cup after getting injured in a training session only 7 days before France’s first game. Nkunku was anticipated to be a key player in defense for the France National Football Team. Since the start of the 2021/22 season, He scored 42 goals for his club, RB Leipzig. However, it is believed that Eduardo Camavinga’s strong challenge ruined the striker’s chances to play in the upcoming World Cup.

Following Camavinga’s collision with his fellow international team member, Christopher Nkunku was seen hobbling out of the practice session. The Real Madrid midfielder’s challenge on Nkunku was captured on video and circulated on social media, leaving many France supporters concerned about the wounded star.

France has now announced that Nkunku will not be a member of their team for the World Cup in Qatar. It is unknown whether the injury was caused directly by Camavinga’s challenge and for how long the Nkunku is likely to be out of the squad.

Just before the team’s flight to Qatar, Kolo Muani was chosen as his replacement, according to a statement from the French soccer federation. Since moving from French Cup champion Nantes to Eintracht Frankfurt in the offseason, Kolo Muani has had a respectable start. He has represented France in two international matches.
