According to coach Louis van Gaal on Friday, the Netherlands National Football Team team will take time during their visit to Qatar to meet with migrant workers who assisted in building the 2022 World Cup stadiums.
On November 17, the squad will meet with a group of approximately 20 migrants to discuss their working circumstances and to give them the chance to participate in training with the players.

The announcement comes days after FIFA advised teams to concentrate on football at the World Cup amid worries over attitudes toward LGBTQ supporters and how migrant workers are treated. According to the Dutch FA, FIFA and a union helped the Netherlands National Football Team to organize a meeting with the migrant workers.
Human rights organizations have been closely monitoring Qatar in the run-up to the tournament due to the migrant situation. Last year, allegations were made in a study by the human rights group Amnesty International that many migrant workers were being abused and trapped by the government of Qatar.
