Novak Djokovic will miss 2022 ATP Cup in Sydney

The Worlds best players currently, Novak Djokovic will not be travelling to Sydney, Australia for the ATP Cup opening in upcoming weeks,  reported on Saturday.

The 34 year old maestro was named to be in Serbian team for ATP Cup as he is yet to confirm to the Australian Open 2022 following the managements conditions over Covid Vaccinations.

Serbia are in Group A along with Norway, Chile and Spain at the ATP Cup, which is scheduled for Jan. 1-9 before the Australian Open begins on Jan. 17.

The Chief of Australian Open says that “There is still uncertainty about Djokovic playing the Australian Open 2022 in Melbourne Park Major. 

Tiley also said that all the athletes and the on ground staff should be vaccinated or have a medical certificate to be granted to be a part of the competition.

Those requirements have prevented Djokovic from confirming whether he will bid for a men’s record 21st Grand Slam title and a 10th Australian Open crown.
