Senegal Football Team confirms to the media the absence of their star player Sadio Mane. Due to the injury during a Bayern Munich match, the player got his knee injured ahead of 13 days before the FIFA World Cup.

His injury has become a result of his team’s suffering at the end. As Sadio Mane is among the most powerful players on the team. The team has their opener match against the Netherlands on 21st November at the Al Thumama Stadium.

Senegal Football Team might face challenges

His news injury confirmed to the majority of the people that he won’t be in Qatar for the World Cup. However, a few days later, it was confirmed that he will ‘miss only a few games‘ and will play in later games.

This is a major blow for the Senegal Football Team as he was the one who led the team towards the Africa Cup of Nations glory in 2021.

The former Liverpool forward won the award for African Player of the Year in July. Also beating out Edouard Mendy of Chelsea and ex-teammate Mohamed Salah.

Without him, the African team will find it difficult to face the challenges of Group A. Where they will play the Netherlands, Qatar, and Ecuador.
