As the NFL’s legal tampering window swings open, the Miami Dolphins find themselves facing a significant loss.

Defensive lineman Christian Wilkins, their key impending free agent, has opted for a new chapter in his career, agreeing to a substantial deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The deal, reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, boasts a whopping $110 million over four years.

Wilkins, a 28-year-old talent, entered the league as the 13th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft after an impressive stint at Clemson.

His decision to bet on himself last offseason, following failed contract negotiations with the Dolphins, has now led him to the Raiders’ roster.

During his 81 games with Miami, Wilkins showcased his prowess with 355 tackles (43 for a loss), 50 quarterback hits, 20.5 sacks, 19 passes defensed, six fumbles recovered, four forced fumbles, and one interception.

This move not only impacts the Dolphins on the field, where Wilkins played a pivotal role, but also reverberates in the locker room, leaving a void that will be challenging to fill.

As Wilkins embarks on his journey with the Raiders, the Dolphins face the task of reshaping their defensive dynamics and finding a new anchor for their team.
