In a candid chat on the St. Brown Brothers podcast, Bears’ quarterback Justin Fields addressed the recent stir caused by his decision to unfollow the Chicago Bears on Instagram. Dismissing the social media frenzy, Fields attributed it to a much-needed break from football content during his off-season.

“Why do people take social media so serious?” Fields questioned, emphasizing his continued association with the Bears. “I still mess with the Bears, this and that. I’m just trying to take a little break. I unfollowed the Bears and the NFL. I’m not just trying to have football on my timeline.”

ESPN reports that Fields, who is heading for vacation, expressed weariness over the ongoing speculations and debates about his future with the Bears. With the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft, the Bears face a crucial decision on whether to retain Fields or opt for a rookie quarterback, with USC’s Caleb Williams at the forefront.

Despite the uncertainties, Fields reiterated his desire to stay with the Bears when questioned by Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown. “Of course I want to stay,” Fields asserted. “I can’t see myself playing in another place. But if it was up to me, I would want to stay in Chicago. I love the city.”

Acknowledging the business aspect of the NFL, Fields expressed a longing for resolution, stating, “I just want it to be over. Like, just let me know if I’m getting traded, let me know if I’m staying, this and that.”

Fields also shared his thoughts on the possibility of joining the Atlanta Falcons, acknowledging the challenges but highlighting the team’s playmakers and solid defense. Amid the offseason buzz, Fields remains focused on the game and eager for a resolution to the ongoing speculation.
