LeBron James has a clear message for those speculating about his son Bronny’s NBA future: let him be a kid. The Lakers star took to social media to address recent mock drafts predicting Bronny’s entry into the NBA in 2025.

In response to a report suggesting Bronny’s inclusion in the 2024 NBA mock draft had been removed, LeBron expressed his frustration. He urged everyone to let Bronny enjoy college basketball and emphasized that the results on the court would speak for themselves.

LeBron highlighted his son’s work ethic, stating, “If y’all don’t know, he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”

LeBron dismissed the significance of mock drafts, stating, “And to all the other kids out there striving to be great, just keep your head down, blinders on, and keep grinding. These Mock Drafts don’t matter one bit! I promise you! Only the WORK MATTERS!! Let’s talk REAL BASKETBALL PEOPLE!”

Despite ESPN projecting Bronny at No. 39 in the 2025 NBA Draft, LeBron emphasized that accuracy isn’t a priority for these projections. ESPN NBA Draft analyst Jonathan Givony clarified that Bronny had been excluded from the 2024 mock draft due to a heart issue in July.

Bronny, a freshman at USC, has faced significant attention both as LeBron’s son and a standout player. After a health scare in the summer, Bronny made his USC debut in December, contributing four points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 17 minutes off the bench.

LeBron, currently in his 21st NBA season, has openly expressed his desire to play alongside his son in the league. The focus remains on letting Bronny enjoy his college basketball journey before any speculation about his NBA future.
